Nottingham City Council’s Adolescence Youth Service is pleased to let you know that our Free Fun & Food Summer Programme is running this summer for young people aged 11–16 years at Bulwell Riverside Youth Centre.
The programme provides a safe, structured, and supportive environment for young people during the summer holidays. Sessions are designed to help young people stay active, build confidence, develop friendships, and enjoy positive experiences in a welcoming setting.
This offer provides a safe and inclusive environment where young people can feel a sense of belonging and take part in positive activities throughout the summer holidays. Our programme supports young people to build friendships, develop confidence, learn new skills, and enjoy a range of enriching experiences.
We especially aim to support children and young people who have been identified by schools or Children’s Services as needing extra encouragement, structure, or positive opportunities during the holiday period.
What’s on Offer?
🎨 Creative arts and themed projects
⚽ Indoor multi-sports and team games
🧪 STEM-based activities
🍽️ A free nutritious meal
🎉 An off-site trip
✨ A welcoming space to build confidence, make friends, and try new things
🌟 Who Is It For?
These sessions are primarily for young people who are eligible for Free School Meals. Participants must:
- Be aged 11–16 years
- Live within Nottingham City
- Be registered with the service
We recognise that not all families have the means to provide regular hot meals for their children, particularly during the school holidays. That’s why our programme is designed to support those who need it most.
We encourage professionals working with young people and families to share this opportunity with those who would benefit. We are committed to ensuring our sessions are inclusive and welcome young people with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities). We encourage families to contact us beforehand to discuss any individual needs. Our staff are trained to provide appropriate support and help every young person feel comfortable, supported, and included.
Additional places may be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
